Ophcrack is a dedicated password-cracking tool primarily for Windows, known for its simplicity and effectiveness in recovering passwords via rainbow tables. In contrast, Cain & Abel is a more comprehensive suite that includes various network analysis and password recovery tools, making it suitable for a wider range of tasks but also more complex to use.
